## National Action Roadmap

In 2020 The Ghana NPAP undertook a scoping and diagnostic exercise in Ghana to identify interventions that have the greatest impact within the plastics value chain and oversee the preparation and establishment of an evidence-based baseline.In November 2021, this key deliverable had been achieved! The National Action Roadmap demonstrates how to manage plastics across the product lifecycle and reducing Ghana’s plastic waste challenge, while continuing to boost the country's economic growth.

### Financing Roadmap

The NPAP will direct global and local investments, as well as funding and support from inter-governmental organization partners, towards high-impact initiatives to reduce plastic marine debris.NPAP Ghana’s Financing Task Force has developed this financing roadmap which outlines recommendations to unlock financing for the circular economy for plastics and attract investment in sustainable solutions. Furthermore, the Financing Task Force will play a vital role in identifying common objectives among organizations, bringing them together to achieve their shared goals.

### Gender Equality Strategy

NPAP Ghana has developed an Intersectional Gender Equality Strategy intended to be a guiding framework for the Ghana NPAP to achieve a range of objectives to promote gender equality, inclusivity, and informal sector integration in the implementation of solutions to tackle plastic waste and pollution between 2022 and 2025.

## Intersectional and Inclusive Social Context Assessment of Ghana’s Informal Plastics and Plastics Waste Sector

This study underscored the pervasive challenges of marginalization, recognition, and sexual and gender-based violence faced by waste pickers, particularly among youth and women. In response, actionable recommendations are provided to address these issues to enhance the well-being and empowerment of informal waste sector actors in Ghana.

The NPAP is co-chaired by Dr Kwaku Afriyie, Ghana's Minister of Environment, Science, Technology and Innovation, and by Georgios Badaro, Managing Director of Nestlé Ghana Limited.

These objectives include to promote gender equality, inclusivity, and informal sector integration in the implementation of solutions, to tackle plastic waste and pollution between the years 2022 and 2025.
