## About INC-5.2

The second part of the fifth session of the Intergovernmental Negotiating Committee to develop an international legally binding instrument on plastic pollution, including in the marine environment, is taking place from 5 to 14 August 2025 at the Palais des Nations in Geneva, Switzerland.

## Our Programme

Beating Plastic Pollution: Solutions DaySunday, 3 August 2025To mark the start of negotiations, we hosted an in-person event spotlighting scalable solutions, inclusive financing, and national strategies. It was aimed at informing the treaty process and accelerating local action through collaboration.

## High-Level Ministerial Dialogue on the Global Plastics Treaty

On the sidelines of INC-5.2, in collaboration with the Switzerland government - Federal Office for the Environment (FOEN), we convened more than 40 ministers alongside business and civil society leaders for an informal high-level dialogue. Discussions focused on how a global plastics treaty can provide the policy signals and regulatory certainty needed to scale investment in circular economy solutions such as sustainable design, reuse, and recycling. The dialogue highlighted the importance of public-private partnerships, enabling regulation, and inclusive approaches to reduce plastic pollution at its source while creating long-term economic and social value.

## Local Innovation, Global Solutions

Following the Ministerial Dialogue at INC-5.2, ministers joined a site visit to ProP, part of the Groupe SERBECO , to see local innovation in action.The industrial dishwashing and reuse system showcased how cities can cut plastic pollution at scale while creating green jobs and delivering long-term environmental and economic benefits. The visit underscored how practical, on-the-ground solutions can complement global policy efforts to end plastic pollution.
