The Intentional Data Community for Food and Nutrition Security (IDC) was launched to strengthen and connect data systems critical for anticipating, preventing, and responding to food and nutrition crises. Despite increasing pressures from conflict, climate shocks, and economic disruptions, funding for these data systems declined by an average of 31% in 2025, impacting key programs like FEWS NET and IPC. The IDC aims to protect data infrastructure, boost local data collection, and improve the use of information for timely, effective government and community action to save lives and protect livelihoods amid escalating global risks such as El Niño.
