Coastal hazards such as rising sea levels, cyclones, storm surges, and salinity intrusion significantly diminish socioeconomic well-being in Asia and the Pacific. This study identifies nine key domains of well-being loss and reviews existing methods for measuring disaster impacts. It proposes an integrated measurement framework with specific indicators and data collection approaches adaptable to government systems. Insights from a pilot study following Cyclone Remal in Bangladesh and stakeholder input inform policy recommendations to improve disaster risk reduction and response, emphasizing gender-disaggregated data and institutional integration.
